Passing Notes with Dr. Jon Spitz

We passed a note to Jon Spitz, an emergency medicine doctor in New York City who shared with us what it was like working during a pandemic. This note was passed to the candidates of Rev. Nayenga Primary School. And is now being shared with the squad in case someone needs a reminder to give their doctor a call or pick up the guitar. That’s how we do little things with passion.

AIDS DAY: The psychological well-being of children orphaned by AIDS in Cape Town, South Africa

In 2006, Lucie Clover and Frances Gardner published the study they did on the psychological wellbeing of children orphaned by AIDS in Cape Town, South Africa. The study focused on the mental health outcomes for urban children living in deprived communities in Cape Town. 60 children participated, 30 were not orphans while the other 30 were orphaned by AIDS.

We love trying foods from different cultures, new restaurants, and anything we might pick up from the baking shows that we watch. Nayenga Primary School, both of whom made kabalagala (you said it right) during the 2020 quarantine lockdown.

EB256 Movement Fundraiser: Building a New Kitchen for Rev. Nayenga Primary School

Our second movement fundraiser is a virtual 5K in honor of the women and young girls who walk miles to collect water for their domestic chores. In addition to taking on other caregiving roles, they have to work and go to school. In most cases, the girls end up dropping out of school altogether. The least that we can do is find ways to make their school life easier. This starts with our porridge program which provides free breakfast.

Maskne is the skin irritation, pimples and blackheads on your cheeks, chin, and around your mouth. The difference between regular acne and “maskne” is that it is a result of the face coverings. The masks cause breakouts due to the combination of friction, heat, moisture and clogged pores.
